New Haven, Connecticut, pop. 123,626. Big enough to be a destination, but small enough that you can recognize the real locals. Downtown, there is a regular population of people seen almost every day working, walking, and hanging out.
The idea of celebrating these people with a set of trading cards has been circulating for some time. In 2003, local musician Rich Neagle suggested the project to me.
I started with a set of 60 printed trading cards about some of the people I know. Here on the web, the list continues to grow as visitors send pictures of their own favorite characters.
